Not all assists are created equal. In this post I'm going to present an assist visualization aid - the assist-shot chart. It is similar to a regular shot chart but instead of plotting all the shots taken by a single player I'm going to plot all the shots that were assisted by a certain player. For example, for the Chris Paul assist-shot chart I'm only going to plot the shots location of shots assisted by Paul. This can be broken down into the different players on the team as can be seen below:

For each player I included the average shot distance. The shots made by DeAndrea Jordan from Chris Pauls assists were taken from an average distance of 0.64 feet. Ridiculous!
